										A Primer On
										Materials Used For Acoustical Treatments
										by Nick Colleran
This article was written for the March
2004 issue of Church Production. It is
										an overview of acoustical materials
starting with a definition and covering
										sound absorbers such as fabric-covered
										wall panels, acoustical foams, noise
										barriers, sound diffusers and isolation
devices that reduce vibration to abate
										transmission through building structure.
Bass trapping and “slap echo” flutter
										reduction are discussed also.
